My name's Uri Zackhem
and I've been in contact with PalestineRemembered.com since 2002.
I'm Israeli, Jewish and live in Kfar Saba.
I like to help documenting the landscape, especially all the things
(buildings, roads, ...) which are taken for granted and which are not
taught at Israeli schools.
For me gaining knowledge about the past is one important step. Working
for equality and justice is the next one.
My wish is one or two states between the sea and the river. I want
Israel (or whatever it will be called) to be socialist, multiethnic and
multicultural, with equality to all the citizens and religious freedom
and freedom from religion if they wish so.
Stopping the law of "return", and the return of all the Palestinian refugees that want to, living among the people already living in Israel.

If you liked
the images/movies I made for PalestineRemembered, please consider
donating money to Dar ElHanoun.
Dar ElHanoun is an old
(established in the 1920s) Arab village, inside the state of Israel,
that is unrecognised.
What's an unrecognised village? An unrecognised village is a vilage
that is not recognised by the state, basic services such as
electricity, municipal services, and, often, running water, are denied.
It does not appear on the official maps. No proper roads lead to it.
The state plans to have all these villages removed.
Needless to say that all of the unrecognised villages are inhabited
by Palestinians who are Israeli citizens. Approximately 100,000 of them
live in unrecognised villages.
This is a continuation of the process of pushing out the Arabs from Israel. The means are not as harsh as in the 1948 war, but the target is the same.
This is the website of Dar ElHanoun:
http://www.geocities.com/dar_elhanoun/
Check it for text, images, video. We are a group of Israelis,
Palestinians and Jews, supported by internationals.
You can help us a lot by sending money: POBox 45896, Haifa, Israel.
A checque made to "Ta'ayush North". In the accompanying letter write
that it is for Dar ElHanoun.
Send me an email regarding your donation - abuaviv@actcom.net.il.
Thank you very much! :)

PS
There are many other Arab-Israeli NGOs who work for civil equality
between Arabs and Jews in Israel. You may consider donating to them as
well.

Dear Zackhem,
Could you please help us to document the village of Ibdis עיבדיס ?
Thank you,
Mazen
Thank you Uri for the video, and for the hard work, courage, and honesty. I went to Qule where my mother was born with, and thanks to, Zochrot this summer--July 12, 2008; what an incredible experience. In the video you posted I saw several of the locations we walked; but most moving for me was that I found myself trying to look closer at the terrain, trying to find her home once more, and being rewarded with many memories of the visit.
All The Best
Rula
Thank you
Thanks Uri,
I never thought that I will see my Grandfather place of birth. this is awesome

MR Uri Zackhem:
I am glad to have such a nice documentation for our arae Alsindyanah, I have been there once after accupation the rest of palestine by Israel. I remember the feeling s of my Mom nad Dad when they saw the land they have grown in and they spent most of their childhood and even till they been married over their, they started remember every part in it although it was destroyed, but even each stone in the village ment some thing to them, by that visit, they implant all their memories in our hearts as kids. Thanks for your effors having this vidio, it just took me back to that time after my parents passed away, me and allmy brothers and sisters distibuted all over the world, non of us can go there to visit the grave of his/her father of mother, it is really a wild world.
Thanks Mr Uri, regards
على راسي كل فلسطين وقولية بالذات
Shalom Uri!
KFAR SABA was translated to me as GRANDFATHER VILLAGE -in Hebrew. After reading Ilan Pappes great work on the ethnic cleansing of Palestine, I wonder how the village was called originally and what that means in Arabic?
Christoph / Germany
Thanks uri for these documentations.
Jewish people are welcome to live with muslim ,christian or any other religion in PALESTINE ( from SEA to RIVER ).
every one born in palestine, regardless of religion, then He / She is palestinian.
Uri, If you born in palestine ( or your parents are palestinian )then you are a palestinin jewish. and we have the same blood.
but the ethiopian jewish is not a palestinan, neither russian , europian or any other jewish.
We cant accept country established on religion, like what israel now.
Uri, if we have the same blood ( PALESTINAN BLOOD ), Then we have the SAME GOAL.which is to KICK israel out ( The racist and religious based country).and to establish Peaceful palestine again.
I appreciate what you do thank you
I am from Safsaf How can foreget muy home my land realy I not finding the exat words to express about my feeling rewording those who occupy my land and home. at anyhow thank you. still we are not against JEWISH AS RELIGION BUT I AM AGAINST ANY PEOPLE WHO OCCUPY THE OTHER'S LAND AND PROPERTIES.
Shukran Uri
I appreciate what you do
The "slaughter industry" will last another 100 years?
I am a Plaestinian refugee from Najd village, I want to thank you for all you do the make the refugees know all about their origins.
SALAM ALAYKOM,
IT IS SO GOOD THAT YOU HAVE SUCH FEELINGS AND BELEIVES, BUT THERE IS SOME THING I WANT TO ASK:WHERE YOU WAS LIVING OR YOUR PARENTS BEFORE BEING IN KFAR SABA? WHAT ABOUT THE ORIGINAL PEOPLE WHO WAS IN THAT LAND BEFORE YOUR FAMILY & 1948? DO YOU THINK IF THEY DECIDED TO GO BACK TO THEIR VILLAGE, YOU WILL LEAVE THE HOUSE YOU ARE IN NOW, AND RETURN IT BACK TO THEM??
I THINK MR URI, THE PROBLEM IS THAT JEWISH WHO LIVES IN OUR LAND PALESTINE IS SETTLE IN OUR HOUSES AND LANDS AND NOT LIVED BESIDE US. I AM FROM AL ABBASEYYAH-JAFFA.JEWISH TOOK OUR FAMILY HOUSE AND LAND. DO YOU THINK THEY WILL RETURN IT BACK TO US? THEN WHERE THEY WILL GO IF THIS GO TO BE HAPPEN?
I AM NOT AGAINST JEWISH AS RELIGION, BUT I AM AGAINST ANY PEOPLE WHO OCCUPY THE OTHER'S LAND AND PROPERTIES,AND KICK THEM OUT.AT THE END THANKS FOR YOUR EFFORT IN HELPING WITH THESE DOCUMENTATIONS
HAVAL1965
Thank you for your courage to say that
Uri, I have been in contact with many scholars like yourself, and I do appreciate your works.
Hope we can live together as we have always been doing before the zionist methodologists hi-jacked the jewish people
Salam, Shaloum, Peace
Thank you for your courage to say that. My father's roots lead to the village of Zirin זרעין .
I personally visited the ruins of the village when I was child, nowadays I live in Jenin.
I know Hebrew & English.
I hope we could change views about any thing.
