Town's name through history	The Crusades built in the village a castle known by Geladia with which al-Jaladiyya was identified.

According to the Palestinian historian Walid Khalidi, the village remaining structures on the village land are:
"Only a few date-palm, carob, and fig trees remain on the site. "
