Mazakis on February 21, 2009 #68354 Right accross from the Church of Gethsemane in the front garden is where my Mother is burried, killed in 1948 when a mortar fell and exploded in the courtyard of we lived in the Old City of Jerusalem, however, no one had an idea as to where the mortar was fired from in early 1948 Israel or Palestine of part of Jerusalem. May She Rest In Peace

The large church, at Gethsemane on the lower slopes of the Mount of Olives, is the Church of All Nations or Basilica of the Agony. Behind it, with the gold onion domes, is the Russian Orthodox Church of Mary Magdalene.
