The octagonal tower is the Palestine Museum at Bab Al-Sahira Quarter. After 1967 it was re-named to the Rockefeller Museum.

كنيسة مريم المجدولية : وهي كنيسة روسية بنيت في عهد قيصر روسيا اسكندر الثالث سنه 1888م , كذكرى لأمه ماريا " مريم " مريم المجدولية // من المجدل شمال فلسطين , شفاها المسيح بعد دخولها الشياطين , فاتبعت المسيح وتنصرت .في هذا الموقع الأعتقاد بأن مريم المجدولية , وقفت لتشاهد رجم الشعيد الأول في المسيحية " القديس اسطفان " ومريم العذراء وقع حزامها على الصخر عند صعودها إلى السماء وقد رآها الرسول , وهناك على الصخرة داخل الكنيسة شكل لحزام مريم .
قبة الكنيسة ذهبية تشبة رؤوس البصل // لذلك متعارف عليها بين سكان المدينة بالكنيسة الروسية أو كنيسة رؤوس البصل . والكنيسة تابعة للأرتوذكس .

The Church of St. Mary Magdalene a Russian Orthdox Church located on the Mount of Olives. Built by Alexander III of Russia The church has seven memorable onion-shaped domes. Behind the gilded domes you see the Moslem Cemetery of Bab Al-Asbat, the Rockfellor Museum and Bab Al-Sahira Quarter.
