يقول لي الوالد بان سبب اطلاق اسم المقطع على هذا النهر , هو انه بعد انتهاء موسم الأمطار وقبل ان تجف مياهه تماما, تبقى تجمعات من الماء مقطعة في مجراه , لهذا السبب سمي بالنهر المقطع .
