Iam from Al Abbassiya/Jaffa I FEEL TIED/ATTRACTED AND PROUD THAT, YOUNGER GENERATIONS DID NOT FORGET.THIS WHAT MAKES, THE JEWS OCCUPATION TO PALESTINE A NIGHTMARE.THEY BELIEVED THIER ZIONIST LEADERS,WHEN CONVENCED THEM,THAT TIME IS THE BEST REMEDY.THEREFORE AS TIME PASSES THE OLDER GENERATIONS WILL PASS AWAY,AND THE YOUNGER WILL SOON FORGET PALESTINE .TIME HAS PROVEN THE CONTRARY,ALHAMDO LELALLAH.THE JEWS SHALL LEAVE, SOONER OR LATER,PALESTINE WILL CERTAINLY BE LIBERATED,AND WE WILL GET BACK TO OUR HOMELAND.IT IS THE CYCLE OF HISTORY,WE WILL GET BACK HOME.

Dear sir
My mom from albasyya from a family known by hamzeh or almoghraby this family is part albatanjeh hamolla
my grand pa from my mom side born in abasiyyah , I guess between 1870-1880 his name alhaj mousa hamzeh , he is a father of Mohammad , Abdullah , teacher Ahmed hamzeh, teacher Hassan hamzeh , teacher Jummm hamzeh ,and his daughter hisan , sukia ,Miriam ,amneh , Halima
My mom born in Palestine in 1943, also all of her family member.
my uncle teacher ahmed hamzeh he is more than 80 years old now and he still have sharp memories about the village- he knows all of the families their .
Me my self in fact I know that one of my mom brother did fought with the German against the English in Palestine
I believe the people over 80 years old should be interviewed and we should write their memories in a book so every Palestinian can know more about his history.
I did read about Palestine history but really their is still some missing link from 1800-1900.
I know that during the ottoman empire their where tax land record , and mawashi taxes(animals tax) that Palestinians used to pay to the ottoman government , where is this archives and record s now.?
What about the marriages and divorce certificates of Palestinians people in 1800-1900.
I believe a lot of history of Palestinian still exist in the ottoman empire books and records in istanpol, so we have to get back this record so we can understand our history more .
the British don't know too much about our history because they just stayed in Palestine very short period of time almost twenty years , so really for us to find our history we should go and dig in Istanbul
I BELEIVE WE NEED MORE DEDICATED PEOPLE TO RE WRITE OUR HISTORY NOW , THE TIME IS SO CRITICAL
WE SHOULD LEAVE MORE DOCUMENT AND WRITTEN HISTORY TO THE NEW PALASTINAN GENERATION SO THEY CAN CARRY ON WITH THE STRUGLE THAT OUR GRAND FATHERS START

Great site. I am Ahmad Jawdat Dirini (Al Dirini family). My grandparents were born in Al-Abbasiyya. I remember the many stories that my grandparents told me about Al-Abbasiyya and its beauty. Additionally, I remember my grandmother stories (bed time stories) about her brother Yousif Al Dirini who was martyred on December 13th, 1947. I؟m American citizen living in Seattle Washington and my dream is one day to visit Palestine as a whole and Al-Abbasiyya in particular. Thanks for whom ever put this site together.

Dear All palestinians, assalomo alikom;
I am a palestinian from Al Abbasiyya, my name is Bahjat abdelrahim from Abdelrahim family from Al bataneja.
It was a great pleasure to hear about this site from a relative living in Britain.
Me and my family do apprciate the great efforts put into this site , and we do thank you for the tremendous effort to get the correct information.
I have a small correction , it was mentioned in the home page that AL Abbasiyya had around a 150 Jews, and I believe this piece of information is incorrect and I would appreciate it if you supply me with the reference, but again this is a great appreciated effort and may Allah bless you.

When my father showed me the pictures of my grandparents village, I could not help but wonder to how I would react if I saw them in real life. When I first looked at the pictures they amazed me so much that I could not imagine that my grandparents really lived there when they were younger. My parents are Hamid and Miral Mousa, I am 10 years old and I live in Ottawa Canada. In the futre I hope to see the village again.

It's always a great thing to read about our own history and background. I am proud that my Uncle and Grand father were both killed defending Al'abbaseyyah in 1948. Another good book that states in three pages most of what's known about the History of Al'abbaseyyeh is a book called "All That Remains" For Walid Elkhaldi. It's a good book edited in part by Sharif Almusa, who himself is from Al'abbaseyyeh.

As I read the text and viewed the pictures, all I could see is my father and my mother telling us stories about this village. I must say it is refreshing to see some of the pictures. I guess this would allow me to share the information with my son and make sure he understand the history. I downloaded the pictures to print and frame them. Only one reguest thought.... please more pictures not only of the town but the culture (Dresses, traditions and so on).Now even in Canada my son can stay connected.
Much appreciated

Assalam Alaikom
It's my great honor to be a Palestinean first, then to be from this great village "Al-Abbasiyya".
I can't describe my feelings when I saw some images that has been posted in the page.
The most ever bad thing is to see your home, but you can't do anything, whereas your enemy, the one who took your land, feels free to use your properity.
It's our responsibility - Al Abbasiyya youth - to search for more details, pictures and stories about our lovely village, form our grandparents before they die.
I'd like to thank the webmaster of this site besides Dr.Walid for the great pictures, and ask Allah (SWT) to make it in his Balance of hasanat, and ask Allah (SWT) to support us with the strength to release our land from Jews.
In this moment, I remember my grandfather "Hassan Abdulraheem" who died in fighting Jews, and pray for Allah (SWT) to accept him as "Shaheed".
