Assalam Alakum,

We've all emmigrated to find ourselves placed on different sides of the globe. Our lives are filled with the everyday tasks that inundate our time; however, these tasks and jobs do not blind our hearts from the land of our grandfathers. At the age of 1, my father brought our family to the United States, and I have now been here for 20 years. Never in my life was heart filled with complete joy as when we visited our land, Ras Abu Amar. I've never felt more at home, or more at peace. The land remains in it's position, however, it's memory will move. It's memory moves with me everywhere I go. The smell of the trees, the sight of the untouched grapes, the rippened figs, and the house... the house ... my great grandfather's home ... intact, untouched, unaware of the war and bloodshed. Our land, OUR LAND, always in hearts, never forgotten.

Once upon a time, this was the homeland of our grandfathers. A peaceful land that sleeps in the arms of mansuetude, and awakes to find itself in the cruel hand of the occupation monster. We grew up in exile, hearing the faint sound of our imprisoned fields coming through the sighs of our parents. And when our elders died, the dream of returning back didn¿t go with them, it was handed down to us, to hand it down to our children. The dream flourishes and gleams however they try to extinguish it, and, it will come true.
A Palestinian ¿out of place¿ I am, but the ¿place¿ is here in me. The hope is great, and the day of reunion is close. The plains and valleys, the trees and vine fields, I can still see in the eye of my imagination. The day of returning is close, because no one can depress the dream, or restraint the will to be free.

The plains and valleys, the trees and vine fields, I can still see in the eye of my imagination. The day of returning is close, because no one can depress the dream, or restraint the will to be free.

Dear brother:

I'm very proud of your big efforts to provide information about Palestine's villages. I'm from RAS ABU AMMAR or let me call it ( as I
used to say ) GREAT RAS ABU AMMAR. I was burned there and my family left the village when I was 6 months old. We stayed in Bethlehem for about 2 years then we left to Jordan. Unfortunately I grow up in Jordan, and before 1967, I visited Bethlehem, Dehaishah and 'Ayda refugees camps several times.

My dream was to see RAS ABU AMMAR for one time even from far away place. I can't describe my happiness when I saw my village for the first time through the film AHLAM ALAWDAH, but I was more happy when I found a website about RAS ABU AMMAR.

I send my all thanks to the heroes who are behind this effort, wishing all of you the best wishes, and hoping to meet you all in our GREAT RAS ABU AMMAR. We have to rebuilt and replant it again.

HAND IN HAND, we shall return.

Best regards.
