It gives me great pleasure to read about my fellow country men and women. I share your feelings towards Hittin and Ein El Helweh - my birhplace. My late father, Chafic Dahabra, was born in Hittin in 1938. He was a teacher at the 'Al-Shohadaa' school in Saida. Some of you may know him. We now live in Michigan but we keep educating our kids about our origins and homeland. I hope you do the same.... would love to hear from other Hittinys, my email is [email protected]. |

I have recently lost my parents whome they had hopes to die and be barried at their homeland ,a hope that was never accomplished , both lived with this hope .Soon few will live to remember the old days of Hitten ,and little will remain other than these warm and heart breaking pictures . Iam from Hittin. My father Saleh Mahmoud Houran is 90 years old. He is still hopeful for a return to the village of Hittin. He remeberes a holly tree EL SEDRE - picture with the woman bearing water from Oyuun Hittin -. The Houran family now refugees in Libanon, Syria and in Palestine "Eylaboon".

Thank you for this website. Iam from Hittin. My family Houran living now som refugees in Libanon and Syrien. My father Saleh Mahmoud Houran is 90 years old and he is stil hopeful for a return back to Hittin. He rememberes EL SEDRE a holly tree. EL SEDRE is the tree you see in the picture where the woman from the village is going, beering water from OYUUN HITTIN. Just behind EL SEDRE where the location of three houses of Houran family.Thanks to Dr. Walid and my regards to you and to all families from Hittin.

This website has awakened my heart and has allowed me to walk through the footsteps of my hittin-born and raised grandparents. Despite it containing only a few pictures of hittin, these few pictures are the only depictions i've had of the land I belong to. I sincerely appreciate the efforts of Dr. Walid, who has allowed my soul to come alive. I imagined Hittin to be beautiful, but not as beautiful as this! I truly dedicate this website to my Grandfather Abdullah Ali Rabah who passed away the summer of 2001. When I see pictures of him, I remember Hittin and all the love and compassion he had for the home he was forced to leave. One day soon (inshallah), we shall all return to the land which belongs to US and our future generations. Regards to all the families of Hittin, my prayers are with you. |

I would like to have the pleasure of being one of the first people to congratulate Dr. Walid for taking the effort in creating such an amazing and proud website. I Mohammad Abou-sweid, a Palestinian who was banned from his motherland am very proud to scream to the world ؟I am a Palestinian from the village of Hittin؟. Unfortunately I never had the pleasure of visiting our great land. I can only pray to God that one glorious day I will be able to set foot on Palestine as a FREE, PROUD, PALESTINIAN. I was really astonished to find Hittin on the web. Hittin is a very small village, yet with a great history that adds pride to our great motherland, Palestine.
