He told me about the Mortar shelling, and he told me that they were asked to leave the village for around one week, and they never went back to it. I am here with you, standing to repeat: WE WILL NEVER FORGET OR RIGHTS, WE WILL NEVER GIVE UP, AND WE WILL BE BACK ONE DAY.

Dear Esam Elayyan,

According to a new book written by Mohamad Khaled Omar, the location of Elayyan family was in the northern part of Majdal Yaba, if you look at the village map, south west of El Sala area there is a triangular intersection of roads, Elayan used to live somewhere between the traingle and El Sala area. I shall upload a new map from that book which lists more families in shaa Allah soon,

Regards,

Dear Saeed,

Welcome back to your home Majdal Yaba.

After doing some research I came up with the following info,

Only Sadiq & Rayan families belonged to Bani Ghazi Clan,

Muhammad al-Sadiq (Rayyan) ruled 25 villages of west Jammai'n in Jabal Nablus in 1850, Jabal Nablus administration was extended upto Salt and Ajloun in Jordan.

However, if you go to the biblical & archeological references you'll find out that the village was populated since the bronze ages. So it's unfair to say that all it's population originated from one area or on tribe

Salam all,
i was googling my deceased friend name and landed on this website. and here i am for the past 18 hours reading every bit about my home village!
i knew nothing of it, but i knew at least that i belonged somewhere. the elders in my family always blabbered about the good old town back home before el nakbe, i never knew it can be as real.
i must confess it felt really great discovering all of this!! now i know that we descend from Al Ghazi Tribes that settled around the Majdel in the 1700s.

the question i want an answer for is, how can i trace the bani ghazi tribes? anyone knows where they came from?

cheers all
Saeed

Hi all

I m Rana Al-Araj , orignally from Majdal al Sadeq as we all prefer to call it , rather than (Majdal Yaba) . It is very thrilling to find documented inforamtion about our town on the internet. I was born in KSa but I have heard stories of the town and nakaba from Dad and grandparents. My dad was born there , he spent his life fighting for returning back to his home town. He has a famous saying he kept repaeting all his life that says "to him a garpege place in Majdal Al_sadeq worthes the whole world". He visited it in 1996 and cried alot.

I have never been there and the chance to see photos of the town is generated feelings very difficult to describ. Thanks to all those who are making this trmendous effeort so we wont forget our roots amd heritage

Salam;

I am from Dier Al Ghuson, Tulkarm. I know that my great grand father moved from Majdal to Dier Al ghuson some times agoo, We do not exactly know when but roughly around the turn of the twentieth century. His name was Masud Hasan Ayesh. My decessed Uncle told me that, he at one time had contact with the Ayesh clan before the nakba, but now there are no contact and none of us know about the Ayesh family. If any one has any information about the Ayesh family, please passon to me.

Thanks

Dear Itai Horwitz,

I am from Majdal Yaba, Majdal Sadeq as we like to call it, or Migdal Tsedek (Tzedek, Zedek) as others like to call it. My parents and grandparents are still very much alive and kicking. We all look forward to the day we will be back there.

My father used to tell me many stories about Ras Al-Ain. My step grandfather was working in Mulabbas on the road between Majdal Yaba and Ras Al-Ain, his employer was a jew.

My father's uncle recalls when a small british military plane crashed near his field next to Ras Al-Ain, and how he tried to rescue the pilot in vein.

My grandfather was working in the quarries of Majdal Yaba before he was fired on 1936 at the Histadrut's insistence by a jewish employer read more about it at: http://www.marxist.com/MiddleEast/arab_jewish_struggles2.html

Jewish poets wrote about this area, check this :
http://www.ithl.org.il/amichai/poem4.html

And jewish environmentalists : http://www.hansonplc.com/managed_content/sub_sites/env_reports/2001/case_study4.htm

There was a rail station that my father and his friends were playing around it, and they were swimming at the Auja (Yarkon) rever.

As an architect & a guitarist, I assume that you would be more interested in landscape & archealogy of the place rather than politics. You can visit Majdal Yaba's site where you can find few links there http://www.palestineremembered.com/al-Ramla/Majdal-Yaba/index.html

You can make a search over the internet using the keywords mentioned herein, you will find many references like this one: http://www.bibleplaces.com/aphek.htm

Or you can contact one of the elders who knew the place like Prof. Ruth Enis http://www.ccrs.technion.ac.il/cv/Enis_cv1.htm but finding Arabs near you who would cooperate with you would be very difficult those days.

I would apprecaite it if you can send me the map with Arabic names you mentioned in your contribution.

All the best in your study

Khaled

Hello!
I write this with some anxiety- some might think it not proper for an Israeli to write here. But I hope that you read on and you will see that I am respectful to your feelings, and maybe I can even be of some assistance.
I am a graduate student, and my thesis deals with the town of Rosh Ha؟ayin. It is near Ras El Ein, between the destroyed village of Majdal Yaba and the existing Kafr Kasem. In my thesis I want to explore the identity of the place, it؟s everyday stories and character- from all periods and all populations. I hope to give evidence to the story of the place, even including the British soldiers that were in an army base there 1941-1948. So the Palestinian stories also interest me, in very specific location of the present town, a bit to the north of Majdal Yaba.
I am looking for memories and information of these places. They probably belonged to people from Majdal Yaba.
I have a map from 1929 that has names in Arabic (written in English) that I could e-mail to anyone that think they might know something, or have a member of the family to ask. If anyone knows of people from Majdal Yaba living in Israel (maybe in Kafr Kasem) I can try to ask them.

May we all have peace and comfort for our sorrows,
Itai Horwitz, Tel Aviv

It feels great to find a community from Majdal Al Sadeq, let everyone work to make it grow bigger and bigger.

Please invite everybody you know form our Palestine, and let them tell their stories.

Do not forget our dream, all of us have the right of return to our home land AND to get compensation for the years of suffering away from home.
Remember: Return AND Compensation, no one should accept return OR compensation whenever you have the chance to decide. ( حق العوده و التعويض و ليس حق العوده أو التعويض )

Finally , May Allah protect our brave people inside palestine fighting against the Israeli occupation

Say NO for giving away our rights

Dear All

My name is Khaled Husein Matar ElSala' We are from El Sala' Family (السلع)

I was born in Khobar, Saudi Arabia in 1968. My elder brother Wahid, and Sister Nahed where also born in Saudi. Raed, Rima, Noor & Mohammed were all born in Jordan.

It has been quite a long time since I dreamed of having a project like this, in fact, I did a good research, and found out a few resources which talked about Majdal Yaba, or "Migdal Tzedek" as it's sometimes named now. Just do a search using googles, change some vowels, and you will get pleanty of information "Megdal, Migdal, Mijdal, Majdal" "Sadeq, Sadik, Tsadik, Tzadik" .... etc.

Al Hamdu Li Allah, at last I found this site.

I shall add to it the pictures & whatever I was able to gather in Shaa Allah ta3ala.

By the way, Aal Omar and AlSala Families are very much related to each other, and Omar Saeed Omar is one of them.

Omar's great grand mother Sarah was marreid to my great grand father, Yousef. Moreover, His eldest two sisters are married to Subhi & Jihad Sala, So we are close relatives.

I hope that this site can also introduce a facility to put the family tree of each clan just like ancestry.com

Don't hesitate to write me back,

All the best

Khaled

In these dark days, when the plight of the palestinian refugees is sinking deeper and deeper into the hole that is the 'Road Map', I think sites like these at least help us involved keep in touch and realise that no matter what others may say, condone, and no matter what papers they sign, as long as we believe that we may return, and unite together, I am sure that bi2ithin Allah we will.

best wishes and luck to all.

Salamo 3alaikom,
I would have prefered to write in arabic if my keyboard supports arabic language, since I am proud to be an Arab, specifically Palestinian Arab, whether from Majdal Yaba or any other spot in Palestine, since all of us are under the same cloud.

I am very pleased to see some members of our family trying to reunite, and on the same time, i still have that grim face that all of us try to hide most of the time, rising from the fact that we, Palestinians, have only 2 images in the eyes of the beholder, wherever we go, one is of a Terrorist wearing a Kiffeyeh & holding a Klachinkov, and the other is of a pathetic pitifull refugee seeking for a new house and identity.. despite the fact that everyone knows that Palestinians are "Qawmon Jabbar", be 3awn Allah ta3ala, and shall have their homeland be ethnehe ta3ala.
I hope that we'll live up to the moment when all of us reunite under Palestinian skies Insha Allah, as it once was.
And i'll be more than happy to get in contact with all of our family members, to speak about whatsoever related to our lands in Palestine.

Akhookom,
S. Rayyan
